When you have dogs all blend into one

The fun

You have

Makes you glad to be alive

Your dachshunds strive

To keep you thoughtful

Resourceful

And unselfish

With a swish

Of their tail

They make your heart wail

If it is at your ankles

But that feeling rarely rankles

For long

As their apologetic eyes are like a song

Of romance

Seducing you like a lover to further enhance

Why you want them with you to your dying days

Because....their ways

Make you smile at your own faults with fondness

So loneliness

Is never near

Because to hear

The patter of their feet upon the floor

Means adventure, new smiles will always be at...your.. door
